There are three key reasons: Safety — to protect you and your family from gas leaks, electrical faults and water contamination. Value — regular checks prevent small issues becoming expensive repairs and protect your vehicle's resale value. Warranty — many manufacturers require annual habitation checks to keep your warranty valid.
A typical motorhome habitation check takes around 2-3 hours depending on the size and condition of the vehicle. Caravan services may take slightly longer as they include additional running gear inspections. We'll give you a more accurate estimate when you book.
Our pre-purchase inspection is a comprehensive assessment of the vehicle's condition before you buy. It includes a full habitation check, bodywork and chassis inspection, damp survey, running gear assessment and service history review. You'll receive a detailed written report with our impartial findings and recommendations.
No — and that's a good thing. Because we don't carry out repairs, our inspection reports are completely impartial and unbiased. We have no incentive to find problems that aren't there. If we do find issues, we'll clearly explain what needs attention so you can get repairs done by a workshop of your choice.

Yes — we come to your home, storage facility, campsite or anywhere convenient for you across Scotland. There's no need to tow your vehicle to a workshop.
We cover all of Scotland including Stirling, Perth, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Falkirk, Dunfermline and all surrounding areas. If you're unsure whether we cover your location, just get in touch and we'll let you know.
We recommend booking at least a week in advance, especially during the busy spring and summer months. However, we do our best to accommodate last-minute requests where possible.
We offer morning and afternoon slots. When you book, let us know your preference and we'll do our best to accommodate it. We'll always confirm the exact time before your appointment.

A habitation check certificate is typically valid for 12 months. We recommend having your vehicle checked annually to maintain safety and protect your warranty.
Yes — our certificates are recognised by major insurance providers. A valid habitation check certificate can help with insurance claims and may be required by some insurers.
